Arizona Game & Fish, Volunteers Needed
Volunteers encouraged to participate in Box Canyon Cleanup (near Maricopa) this Saturday.

Here’s a great volunteer opportunity that can help keep our public lands looking good while maintaining access for all to enjoy. Bring your family and friends to the second annual Box Canyon Cleanup, located west of the City of Maricopa, this Saturday, Dec. 13.
Box Canyon is a very popular recreational area. Its heavy use, however, requires periodic cleanups to keep it looking good. Shooters, hunters and others who recreate on this and other public lands are encouraged to come out and participate in this cleanup project. The event details are:
DATE: Saturday, Dec. 13.
TIME: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (come for all or part of the day).
SPONSORED BY these cooperating organizations: Tread Lightly!, Environmental Concerns Organization (ECO), Dusty Bunch Shooting Club, Bureau of Land Management, and Arizona Game and Fish Department.
BRING: Water, work gloves, and wear long pants and sturdy shoes.
LUNCH: Will be provided to all volunteers.
DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of Highway 238 and State Route 347 in Maricopa, take Highway 238 west to Rio Bravo Road. Head south on Rio Bravo approximately 4.5 miles and the location will be on the west side of the road. The area is west of the City of Maricopa and just 1 mile south of the intersection of Hidden Valley and Farrell Roads. Click here to print flier and map.
