From the Founder
Western Whitetail Magazine, Spring 2012 – Another hunting season has come and gone, and now, spring is here. I hope everyone took a few nice bucks, and enjoyed their time with family and friends, while engaged in your hunting activities.
In 2012, Western Whitetail staff and pro staff members filmed several hunts for our inaugural WEB-TV show. All of the episodes from season one are available on our YouTube channel at: www.YouTube.com/WesternWhitetail. If you have not had a chance to watch them all, I encourage you to do so.
This year is going to be an exciting year for Western Whitetail, and it begins with this issue. I have handed the editor reigns off to a well-deserving colleague, Scott Haugen. Respected in the industry like no other, Scott’s broad knowledge of hunting the West makes him the ideal Western Whitetail hunter. I am confident that his expertise will serve Western Whitetail well.
We have made a few more changes to our editorial team as well. Joining us is Tiffany Haugen, who will be bringing us a recipe column every quarter. Additionally, another expert Western hunter, Bob Robb, has joined the writing team. Bob will be providing a featured article, as well as his “The Bow Shop,” column every quarter. To round out our team, we also added longtime writer, Kevin Reese, and two exceptional female hunters and writers, Mia Anstine and Jackie Gross. Check out their three columns in this issue, “The Thoughtful Hunter,” The Comfort Zone,” and “The Archery Addict,” respectively. My son, Juniors-Only editor, Colton Choate, will add his column on youth hunting every quarter, as well.
I appreciate your support. Please stay tuned for some more exciting announcements to come later this year. Happy hunting!
